Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Take My Boat Test is committed to making our courses and Site usable by everyone, regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our baseline.

What we've built in

• Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element on the Site can be reached and activated with the Tab, Enter, and Space keys. Focus indicators are visible.
• Screen reader compatibility. We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels so screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS) can announce page structure and form fields correctly.
• Color contrast. Body text meets the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratio (4.5:1 minimum) against its background.
• Resizable text. The Site reflows cleanly when text is zoomed up to 200%. No horizontal scrolling required.
• Captions and transcripts. Where our course content includes video, captions are available. Transcripts are provided for audio-only content on request.
• Form labels and errors. Every form field has a visible, programmatically-associated label. Error messages are announced to assistive tech and identify the specific field.

Known limitations

We're an actively-developing platform. Known issues we're working on:

• Some legacy course content imported from our previous LMS may have incomplete alt-text. We're backfilling as we re-touch each topic.
• Our affiliate dashboard analytics tables don't yet have a screen-reader-optimized summary view. Tables are still navigable cell by cell.

Include the page URL, the device/browser/assistive tech you're using, and a short description of what went wrong. We respond within 1 business day and aim to resolve issues within 14 days.

Alternative formats

If you need course content in an alternative format (large print, audio, Braille summary) to complete your boater education, email us. We will work with you to provide an accessible path to completion at no extra cost.
